Alexis Muñoz Guevara "Papo," was born in Yaguajay, Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, in 1964. He received the Bachelor of Physical Culture and Sports, graduating in 1991. Papo learned guitar and harmony through self study and with the help of other Cuban musicians, such as maestro Armando Martin.
He began working in music professionally in 1993, joining the “Trio En Sueño,” touring in Canada, Guatemala, Italy and France.
In 2001, Papo emigrated to Mexico, directing and performing for 12 years with musical group “Coco Ache” in hotels and restaurants in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco. In 2012 he emigrated to Louisiana, where he performs on the various stages of Baton Rouge and New Orleans. His repertoire encompasses multiple musical genres, including Latin Jazz, salsa, bolero, cha-cha-cha and more.
